Blog #3

The seventh book of Harry Potter was a great, dramatic ending for the series. Everything that the main characters were fighting for, good and bad, all came to a climatic finish with the Hogwarts battle.

Near the beginning of the series, I perceived Dumbledore to be this powerful wizard who wouldn’t easily crack under pressure. In the seventh book, I still perceived this, but Dumbledore did show his soft side. He had vulnerabilities, like the rest of them. Even Snape had some moments of his own, particularly with his interest in Lily.

When it comes to the main three characters (Harry, Ron, and Hermione), they presented a great amount of maturity that’s been building over the course of the series. What makes their maturity in the seventh book intriguing to me is the situations they are forced into: going into hiding from Voldemort, trying to handle their emotions with each other, and doing what was necessary to protect Hogwarts and its teachers/students.

The Harry Potter series is truly amazing.
